Raiden's Capture

Raiden's Capture refers to a brief incident where Raiden was captured by The Patriots during his mission to extract the comatose body of Big Boss, which resulted in Big Mama intervening with her Paradise Lost Army to save Raiden from the experiments.

First Experiments

In an unknown time during the early 2010's, The Patriots conduct experiments on at least thirty individuals, which results in them having cybernetic left arms that house sensitive Patriots-related data. This would mark one of the very first experiments made by The Patriots in the field of cybernetics.

Retrieval Of Big Boss's Body

After successfully coping with the information on Roy Campbell's and Rose's (his earlier fiancée) that they are in a supposed marriage and returning from his learning sessions to hunt and scout following the successful outcome of the Raid At Area 51 a year prior, Raiden, as he promised to Big Mama, started his work on retrieving the body of Big Boss, who was under Patriots possession following the capture of his body back in 1999 during the Zanzibar Land Disturbance.

Subsequent Capture and Extraction

Shortly after, in an unknown turn of events, Raiden was captured by The Patriots presumably due to his mission on extracting such valuable target as Big Boss's body. The Patriots then used Raiden as a guinea pig for their Exoskeletal Enhancement project, which was a shot at recreating the cyborg technology first used on Gray Fox. During the experiments, Raiden's head and spine were removed from his body and lower jaw and subsequently grafted into the Enhanced Synthetic Body.

The Rescue And The Surgery

A year later, in 2013, learning of Raiden's capture, Big Mama started to plan out a rescue plan to save Raiden. With their help, Raiden was able to escape his captivity. It was later found that inside of Raiden's body were nanomachines, harmful to his status. For an operation to clean his body of the nanite cyberbodies Big Mama reached out to Drago Pettrovich Madnar, who earlier participated in the Outer Heaven Uprising and the before mentioned Zanzibar Land Disturbance.

Aftermath

The operation became an another success for the Paradise Lost Army. Raiden was successful in obtaining Big Boss's remains. The comatose body of Big Boss was later rebuild from the burn injuries he sustained during the fight with Solid Snake 14 years prior using the body parts of Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake, restoring his original appearance, although Big Boss was still in a coma due to Patriots nanomachines still inside him. The body implants that Raiden received during the experiments were too severe for him to enjoy and live a normal life again. Because of this, Raiden likely fallen into another depressive state, where he let go of any chances to return to his wife and the child he didn't know was still alive. Jack disappeared from the public eye, and would've not been seen or heard from for the next year until the Guns Of The Patriots Incident, where he decided to help the now aged Solid Snake, more commonly called Old Snake, with lending intel and helping in the fight to destroy and end The Patriots reign over society.

Behind The Scenes

Raiden's Capture and the events that took place during the incident were mentioned during Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots and Metal Gear Solid 4 Database. The event would've likely appear in the now cancelled Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which was later revamped into Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
